HB 193 amends the Texas Labor Code to raise the state minimum wage to $15.00 per hour or the federal minimum wage, whichever is greater. This adjustment mandates that all employers pay their employees at least this new rate. The bill also repeals Section 62.151 of the Labor Code, which previously allowed certain exceptions to the minimum wage requirement. This act is set to take effect on September 1, 2025.
