HB 1941 introduces peer support specialist services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) under the Texas Medicaid program. It requires the Health and Human Services Commission to establish rules for the training, certification, and scope of work for IDD peer support specialists. A stakeholder work group will be formed to assist in the development of these rules, and the inclusion of these services will be contingent on federal authorization.
