HB 2232, known as the "Built to Rent Act," authorizes certain counties to regulate "build-to-rent" and manufactured home rental communities. It allows counties bordering the Gulf of Mexico with a population over 370,000 and adjacent to a county with more than 3.3 million residents to establish minimum infrastructure standards for manufactured home rental communities, such as lot size, road width, and ingress/egress access. The bill also exempts build-to-rent communities from subdivision regulations while allowing county commissioners to impose infrastructure standards after public hearings.
