HB 2356 amends the Penal Code to expand the list of prohibited weapons to include devices designed and intended to modify handguns to fire automatically with a single trigger pull. It makes possession, manufacture, transport, repair, or sale of such devices a criminal offense unless the device is registered with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record or classified as a curio or relic by the U.S. Department of Justice. The bill aligns state law with federal firearm regulations on automatic weapon modifications​.
