HB 2371 modifies the employment restrictions for school district trustees. Under current law, a trustee of an independent school district cannot be employed by that district until one year after their term ends. This bill exempts trustees of school districts eligible for additional funding under Section 48.101(b) of the Education Code, allowing them to be hired immediately upon leaving office​.
