Digest
HB 2502 establishes additional security requirements for electronic voting system equipment used in Texas elections. The bill amends the Election Code to require that all electronic voting machines be equipped with software that tracks all input and activity on the machine. This software must be capable of creating a record of all interactions with the equipment and must be designed so that it cannot be disabled or altered. The new requirements apply only to elections ordered on or after the bill’s effective date.
