Digest
HB 2708 expands eligibility for nondisclosure orders for individuals who have completed deferred adjudication or community supervision. The bill shortens waiting periods for petitioning for an order of nondisclosure, reducing the required wait time from two years to one year for state jail felonies and from five years to two years for third-degree felonies. It also allows individuals convicted of certain nonviolent misdemeanors and felonies to apply for nondisclosure under revised criteria. The bill applies to petitions filed on or after September 1, 2025.
