Digest
HB 2907 regulates the use of a tenant’s name or likeness by landlords for commercial purposes. It requires any lease provision granting such authorization to include an opt-out option, limits the authorization to the duration of the lease, and renders any provision violating these terms void. Tenants may recover damages of one month’s rent, seek injunctive relief, and claim attorney’s fees if their rights under this bill are violated. The law applies to leases entered into or renewed on or after September 1, 2025.
