HB 3018 creates a Commission to Study Measures to Abolish Ad Valorem Taxes, composed of legislators and public officials. The commission will study alternative methods of taxation to replace revenue lost to local governments if property taxes are abolished. It must submit a report with findings and recommendations by December 1, 2026, after which it will be dissolved​.
