HB 3150 regulates billing practices for nonparticipating suppliers of durable medical equipment, orthotic devices, and prosthetics to Medicare enrollees. It limits charges to no more than 115% of the Medicare-approved amount unless the enrollee explicitly agrees in writing. Violations are subject to criminal penalties and deceptive trade practice sanctions. The law applies to equipment sold on or after the effective date.
