Digest
HB 3312 extends the retention period for video recordings from surveillance cameras in special education classrooms from three months to 12 months. Additionally, if an employee is involved in an alleged incident, the school must retain all available footage of that employee until the matter is fully resolved, including through any appeals. The bill also guarantees employees, parents, and their attorneys the right to review recordings of incidents and removes limits on how many times they can view the footage.
