HB 3895 directs the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, in consultation with the Texas Department of Transportation, to conduct a study on wireless energy transmission for electric vehicles. The study will assess different methods, such as magnetic induction, and evaluate their feasibility on Texas roads, with a priority on toll roads. A final report is due to the legislature by September 1, 2026, and the bill expires on December 31, 2026.
