HB 3944 prohibits individuals who hold an elective office from serving in an appointive position on an appraisal district board of directors. Additionally, individuals already serving in an elective position on the board are ineligible to hold another elective office at the same time. The bill grandfathers in current board members serving before the law takes effect on September 1, 2025, allowing them to complete their terms.
