HB 4020 modifies presuit notice and inspection requirements for property damage insurance claims. It enhances the level of detail required in presuit notices and shortens the time for insurers to request property inspections. It also allows insurers to dispute attorney fees claimed in presuit notices and provides additional mechanisms to delay or dismiss lawsuits if claimants fail to meet procedural requirements. The bill applies to claims and lawsuits filed on or after its effective date.
