HB 4723 prohibits businesses from assigning environmental, social, or governance (ESG) scores to individuals or families in Texas. It imposes a civil penalty of up to $1,000 per violation, with each day a violation continues being counted separately. The Attorney General would have enforcement authority, including the ability to seek injunctions against violators​.
