HB 485 authorizes the board of an emergency services district (ESD) to repeal or reinstate the sales tax exemption on gas and electricity sold for residential use within the district. The board may adopt such measures through a majority vote. Implementation of these changes requires notice to the Texas Comptroller, with the repeal or reinstatement taking effect on the first day of the calendar quarter following a complete quarter after notification.
