HB 504 mandates that health benefit plans provide coverage for hair prostheses (wigs) for cancer patients undergoing or who have undergone medical treatment. Coverage must include repair or replacement of the prostheses unless damage or loss is due to misuse. The coverage must provide at least $100 per prosthesis, and no additional premium can be charged for this benefit. This law applies to health plans issued, renewed, or delivered on or after January 1, 2026, and takes effect September 1, 2025.
