HB 5157 restricts the purchase of certain food and drink items under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission will develop a list of prohibited items based on nutritional value. However, the bill explicitly prohibits banning single-ingredient food or drink items​.
