HB 518 prohibits nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, and foreign governments from purchasing or acquiring agricultural land in Texas. The bill requires the Texas Department of Agriculture to submit an annual report to state leadership identifying all agricultural land owned by foreign entities and to post the report on its website. Additionally, the bill amends the Texas Property Code to restrict property rights for aliens concerning agricultural land. The Act takes effect on September 1, 2025.
