HB 556 amends the Election Code to expand the definition of prohibited media influencing elections to include all forms of "artificially generated media" created with generative artificial intelligence or similar technology. It criminalizes the creation or distribution of such deceptive media with intent to harm a candidate or influence an election outcome within 30 days of the election.
