HB 570 requires the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, in collaboration with public housing authorities, to screen applicants for the Housing Choice Voucher Program for eligibility for other public assistance programs (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP). Identified individuals must be notified of eligible programs and given information on how to apply. Implementation depends on obtaining necessary federal waivers, if applicable.
