HB 703 expands the authority of the Texas Secretary of State and introduces the role of "election marshals" to investigate and address alleged violations of election laws. The marshals will be peace officers licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and will work under the guidance of the Secretary of State to ensure compliance with electoral processes.
