HB 704 prohibits utility service disconnections on weekends, holidays, and days preceding them for residential customers of electric, natural gas, propane, and water utilities. It also requires deferral of payment deadlines during extreme weather emergencies and mandates utilities to work with customers on payment schedules for deferred bills. This Act aims to provide consumer protections during critical periods and will take effect on September 1, 2025.
