HB 725 amends the permissible uses of funds allocated under the bilingual education allotment in the Foundation School Program. It specifies that at least 55 percent of such funds must be used for bilingual or special language education programs and broadens allowable expenditures to include incremental costs for smaller class sizes. The changes apply beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, with the Act effective immediately upon sufficient legislative approval, or on September 1, 2025, otherwise.
