HB 731 expands the duties of the Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee. It mandates the use of the Maternal Mortality Review Information Application (MMRIA) data system administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for analyzing healthcare data related to maternal mortality and morbidity in Texas. The Act aims to improve insights into maternal health trends and disparities and takes effect September 1, 2025.
