HB 733 establishes verification requirements for the citizenship or legal residency status of individuals involved in certain residential real estate transactions in platted subdivisions. Sellers are required to file proof of the purchaser's status with the county clerk. Noncompliance is penalized as a Class B misdemeanor, with increased penalties for repeat offenses. The Act applies to contracts entered into on or after September 1, 2025.
