HB 770 prohibits registered sex offenders from possessing firearms as defined under Section 46.01 of the Penal Code. It also requires offenders to be informed of this prohibition upon release from incarceration and mandates updates to their registration forms. The prohibition applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025.
