HB 818 amends the Texas Controlled Substances Act to designate mifepristone and misoprostol as Schedule IV controlled substances, while exempting pregnant women from criminal penalties for possessing these substances for personal use. The law applies to offenses committed on or after its effective date, September 1, 2025.
