HB 834 restricts the carrying of firearms, excluding handguns, in counties with populations over 1 million or certain other designated counties near international borders. Exceptions include carrying on private premises or within one’s vehicle or watercraft. The Act creates a criminal offense for violations and takes effect on September 1, 2025.
