HB 845 allows pharmacists to furnish prescription drugs for acute conditions, such as influenza and strep throat, identified through specific rapid diagnostic tests. The process requires a written protocol with a physician, training for pharmacists, and notice to a patient’s primary care physician. Rules for implementation must be established by January 1, 2026, with the Act effective September 1, 2025.
