HB 915 repeals Section 431.114 of the Texas Government Code, which authorizes commanding officers of the state militia to prohibit the sale or exchange of arms, ammunition, or explosives. This change aligns with the Texas Constitution’s provisions on militia regulation and would take immediate effect if it secures a two-thirds vote in each legislative house, or otherwise on September 1, 2025.
