Digest
HJR 149 proposes a constitutional amendment allowing a state officer to continue serving while impeachment proceedings are pending. It removes the current automatic suspension of impeached officials and eliminates the governor's authority to appoint an interim replacement. If passed by voters, the amendment will take effect following the November 4, 2025, election.
