SB 1105 creates the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Authority to expand and support nuclear energy development in Texas. The bill establishes a governing executive committee, composed of government officials, university leaders, and industry representatives, to oversee nuclear energy initiatives, research, and economic incentives. The Texas Governor’s Office will provide staffing and administrative support. The bill also creates a Texas Nuclear Permitting Officer to help businesses navigate state and federal nuclear energy regulations. Additionally, it establishes the Texas Advanced Nuclear Innovation Fund to provide grants and funding for nuclear research and development.
