SB 1123 increases penalties for theft of petroleum products. The bill enhances punishment if the offender organized, financed, or managed others involved in the theft, has prior convictions for petroleum theft, engaged in conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, or possessed a firearm during the crime. These enhancements raise the offense level to the next higher category, except when the crime is already classified as a first-degree felony.
