SB 1131 aims to create an advisory committee to evaluate the need for suicide prevention and peer support programs within fire departments in Texas. The committee, composed of mental health professionals and fire service representatives, will produce a report with recommendations on implementing these programs and addressing licensing and confidentiality issues​.
