Digest
SB 1182 bans the sale of flavored cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and tobacco products with any distinguishable taste or aroma other than tobacco. Prohibited flavors include menthol, mint, fruit, chocolate, alcohol-based flavors, spices, and dessert flavors. The bill introduces a rebuttable presumption that a product is flavored if its marketing, packaging, or labeling suggests it has a non-tobacco flavor. Violators will face disciplinary action under existing tobacco control laws. This measure is intended to reduce youth access to flavored tobacco products and discourage smoking initiation.
