Digest
SB 1552 revises the fast-growth allotment formula in the public school finance system, adjusting how school districts receive additional funding for student enrollment increases. It allows school districts to receive funding based on the highest of two metrics: their six-year enrollment growth or their three-year average annual growth, if they rank in the top quartile of fastest-growing districts in Texas. The bill seeks to more equitably distribute state funds to rapidly expanding school districts.
