Digest
SB 1928 amends the Government Code to make personal information collected during the jury selection process confidential. It prohibits courts, attorneys, parties, or court personnel from disclosing such information, which includes a person’s home address, telephone number, Social Security number, driver’s license number, and information provided in juror questionnaires. Exceptions to the confidentiality rule are allowed only if a court finds good cause and authorizes disclosure to a party involved in the proceeding or to a news media member acting within their professional duties.
