SB 2159 authorizes aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) projects that transect the Edwards Aquifer in Medina County, allowing injection wells to store water in geological formations beneath the aquifer. It directs the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to adopt rules implementing this change by March 1, 2026.
