SB 2447 creates new reporting requirements for assisted reproductive technology providers, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics. Providers must report detailed data on the number of embryos created, how they are used, and instances of embryo loss, including causes such as genetic testing, equipment failure, and discretionary destruction by providers or parents. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will compile and publish an annual report summarizing the data while maintaining patient confidentiality​.
