SB 2506 establishes a grant program under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to help fund the plugging of abandoned and deteriorating water wells. Grants will reimburse up to 50% of costs for landowners and water districts that permanently plug wells in compliance with state regulations.
