SB 2559 allows county governments to require automatic enrollment of county employees in a deferred compensation plan, with a default contribution of 3% of their salary. Employees may opt out at any time or adjust their contributions. The county must provide notice of enrollment and opt-out options at the time of hiring. The law applies to employees hired on or after January 1, 2026.
