Digest
SB 2819 seeks to amend Section 31.035(a) of the Texas Election Code to impose additional restrictions on county elections administrators. Specifically, it prohibits them from holding any public office, office or position in a political party, or other offices appointed by an elected official. The bill stipulates that violating these provisions automatically vacates the administrator's position. The amendments apply only to administrators appointed on or after the Act’s effective date of September 1, 2025.
