SB 301 updates the instructional time requirements for Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Programs (JJAEPs), changing the requirement from a set number of days and hours per day to 43,200 minutes of instructional time per year. Programs may apply for waivers, limited to the maximum instructional time waived for school districts served by the JJAEP​.
