SB 450 seeks to restrict lobbying activities by former members of the Texas Legislature. Former legislators would be prohibited from engaging in activities requiring lobbyist registration until after the adjournment of the second regular legislative session following their departure from office. Exceptions are provided for unpaid advocacy on behalf of nonprofits or disadvantaged individuals. Violations would constitute a Class A misdemeanor.
