SB 453 adds a curriculum requirement for Texas high school students to complete a course on modern conflicts as part of the foundation high school program. The course would cover historical and geopolitical topics such as the Cold War, communist regimes, 9/11, and the Iraq and Afghan Wars. The requirement would apply to students entering the ninth grade in the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
