SB 526 mandates the incorporation of green stormwater infrastructure in the construction of new state buildings, including rain gardens, permeable pavements, and other eco-friendly designs to mitigate erosion, flooding, and water pollution. The requirement applies to building contracts solicited on or after September 1, 2025. Existing construction projects or contracts initiated prior to this date remain governed by current laws.
