SB 611 proposes to authorize the commissioner of state health services or the chief medical executive of the Department of State Health Services to issue a statewide standing order for epinephrine auto-injectors to public and private schools in Texas. This standing order does not need to be patient-specific, allowing epinephrine or medication for respiratory distress to be administered without a prior physician-patient relationship.
