Digest
SB 702 adds provisions to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure to allow medical examiners or justices of the peace to order autopsies on deceased individuals with a history of epilepsy to determine the cause of death. If the death is related to epilepsy, the information may be reported to the North American SUDEP Registry, and epilepsy may be listed as a cause of death on the death certificate.
