SB 804 mandates that courts placing a child on probation with a school attendance requirement must develop a transportation plan in consultation with the child's parents, school officials, and probation officers to ensure the child’s attendance is not hindered by lack of transportation. Probation officers must monitor the child’s school attendance and assess whether transportation was reasonably available in cases of absence. This bill applies to probation orders issued on or after its effective date of September 1, 2025, and to children already under probation at that time.
